About UrbanSprout
We believe fresh, nutritious food should grow where people live — not 1,500 miles away.
Our Mission
UrbanSprout Farms is transforming how cities grow food. By converting repurposed shipping containers into high-efficiency vertical hydroponic farms, we bring fresh produce directly into urban neighborhoods — eliminating food miles, reducing water waste, and creating local food resilience.
Founded in 2022, we started with a single container in Brooklyn. Today, we operate 45 container farms across 12 cities, growing over 40 varieties of leafy greens, herbs, and microgreens with zero pesticides and 95% less water than traditional farming.
